Boys U13B

A rearranged fixture vs Piltown did not go as planned. Our lads went down 2-0 early on but showed great character to bring the game level at 2-2 with goals from Nathan & Tommy. Piltown got a penalty late on and added to their scoring as we pressed for an equalizer Final score 4-2 but a lot of positives to take.

Boys U12A

The first Poleberry Derby in schoolboy football this season and the spoils went to Villa. All the goals came in an exciting first half with Anderson & Samuel scoring to give us a 2-0 lead. Bohs did get one goal back before half time but our lads fought to protect our lead all second half. Great result after an unlucky start to the season last time out.

Boys U12B

We welcomed Dungarvan for an early kick off in what was a tight game. The game could not be split and thats how it finished. A highly competitive 2-2 was the final score. Our goals came from Dillion and Luke. Great display from all players on the pitch.

Boys U12C

A positive start as we were fastest out of the blocks as we took the lead in the first half through Adam. With Park Rangers pushing hard we looked to hold until half time but unfortunately, they got the goal that saw it 1-1 at half time. Through not taking our own chances and making mistakes which the opposition capitalised on the final score ended 3-1 Park Rangers. A positive outcome from a negative result as our lads are making progress each week even if the results do not reflect.

First game of the season for this group against new boys in the league Ballinroad. A close start to the game saw chances at both ends but a flurry of goals in a short period saw the game come alive and saw us 2-1 ahead with both goals from Fidel. Much improved second half saw us take control as Fidel added to his tally and Noah slotted home a penalty. Ballinroad who are very well drilled did not give up though and were rewarded with another goal. Game finished 5-2 with some great displays from our back line and wingers, especially Nicholas and Finley.

Boys U14B

A comfortable day today as our lads took on Ferrybank. An ever improving side put on a great display of team work. The goals came from all over the pitch from :Oisin, Cormac, Jamie, Avu, Tommy, Ephraim, Ciaran & Luca. Two wins from two and a great start to the season.

Boys U16A - Sponsored by Full of Beans

Our 16A side were made work really hard for the victory this weekend against a tough and well drilled Dungarvan side. For long periods of the game only a single goal was the difference untl late the second half we scored to give ourselves some breathing space. Some great goals from Baasit, Callum & Harry saw us with a 4-1 victory.

Boys U16B

A game of small margins was the case in Ballyduff. They scored early on from and corner and doubled their lead from an unfortunate own goal. Credit to Ballyduff as they weathered our pressure and defended brilliantly to win 2-0.

First Division - Sponsored by Dr Hemp Me

In what was a comfortable game for the most part was made difficult mid second half. We took the lead through Danny Ahearne but failure to clear the ball, we allowed Abbeyside to draw level. Needing to raise the levels to get the win, Jimmy Goldsmith found Danny Walsh who control and finished lovely to give us all three points. Three wins from three for our First Division team.

Game Postponed

Girls U12

What a start to the season by our girls. Poleberry derby that did not disappoint. We took a 3-1 lead into half time with goals coming from Samantha & Megan. The second half turned the game on its head. Bohs came out fighting and scored 3 unanswered goals to lead 4-3. In the dying minutes of the game a point was saved as Emily scored to draw level at 4-4. A great start for this young team.

Girls U16

A tough opening fixture against a solid Carrick team. We started the stronger and went 1-0 up through Nancy. Forced changes caused upset for us and Carrick made the most of it and drew level. A tactical change to move our keeper into midfield paid off as Catherine made an immediate impact scoring. Carrick did score late on to make it 2-2 and both teams had their chances to take all three points but noone on either side could convert.

Youth A - Sponsored by BK Doors

Another strong performance after a disappointing defeat last time out. Goals coming Shane O Brien with 5, Anthony with a hattrick and Daire & Tony rounding off the scoring.

Youth B - Sponsored by BNI Greenway

The match was as crazy as the weather in Carrick. We took a two goal lead early through Callum & Bassit. Carrick didnt give in and fought back to take the lead 3-2. Another quick exchange of goals before half time saw the score at the break 4-3 to Carrick. A more solid approach in the second half saw Josh score his second and Shane in the right place to score the winner. Every player dug in, in what were terrible conditions to win 5-4.

Youth C - Sponsored by Douglas Carroll Consulting Engineers

A long journey to Abbeyside was even longer on the way home after a very disappointing 90 minutes With a few players missing, the 11 on the pitch were no match for a strong Abbeyside team who put 7 past us without any reply. A strong learning curve for this team who continue to work hard in training .
